If I Were President of the Philippines

February 25, 2014 was the EDSA Revolution Anniversary in the Philippines.  The EDSA Revolution Anniversary (People's Power Revolution, Yellow Revolution) celebrates when Filipinos protested the violence, dictatorship and election fraud of President Ferdinand Marcos and how they peacefully ousted him from power in 1986.   It is a holiday during which Filipinos should feel a huge sense of nationalism and pride.

In honor of the EDSA Revolution, a day when the Filipino people took power, I asked the Photography Club participants to imagine themselves as President of the Philippines. After they stopped uncomfortably joking about their new found power and took it seriously, I could tell they could really see it.  Then I asked them what they would address, improve or change as President.  After they brainstormed some ideas, they went out to capture images representing their ideas.  Once they got back, they presented their best photos...
