This is a letter Paolo wrote for Den before the wedding.
Dear den,
I love you.
I love your passion for teaching
I love that you stroke my neck when I am driving
I love that you’re my one-woman support crew
I love that you correct my grammar error filled text messages
I love that you cook salmon for me or ask carol to cook the salmon for me
I love that you sing for me
I love that you’re smarter than me, heck half of the world’s smarter than me
I love that you have so much patience with ken, and not so with me haha
I love seeing how you care for ken
I love taking credit for the tricks that you taught maddy
I love your smile
I love your eyes
I love holding your hands
I love it when your hair is not that straight
I love the monthly letters and cards that you give me
I love the back rubs, ehem matagal ng wala ah!
I love it when you blame me when you accidentally fart, or is it really me?
I love the long drives with you
I love that you are clumsy, another reason to hold hands
I love that you don’t always close what you open
I love your doctor evil laugh
I love your crouching tiger hidden butiki moves
I love that your asthma, gives me a chance to take care of you
I love that you’re bad with parking, another excuse for me to drive for you
I love that you always fall asleep on long drives
I love that you can’t run
I love your allergies, lets me eat your portion haha
I love the yearly hospital trips, gives us time alone
I love it when you try to speak Chinese, you sound korean
I love beating you in scrabble (haha ako ang nagsusulat so ako ang bida)
I love the thought of growing old with you, but of course you’ll always be a year older
I love how brutally honest you are with me, next time preno naman haha
I love how you stripped me of my masks, next time sabay mo naman katawan
I love how you stand by me
I love how you fight for me
I love that you make me feel vulnerable *enter roxette singing vulnerable
I love that you cry, and use my shirt to wipe your tears and nose
I love that you’re holding on
I love how confident you are when you say that no one would love me as much as you do, makes me feel el guapo
I love everything that you are, and everything that you’re not.
I had the privilege of attending my host sister and friend's wedding last Thursday. It is refreshing to see a young couple so in love and so open about it. Their relationship is not the typical Filipino relationship that I see. It was quite the event. Picture pre-parties, a huge church, 5 priests, 2 bishops, custom designed dresses, imported food and drinks, a DJ, a wedding band, a videographer, 4 photographers, and most importantly, 2 people very in love surrounded by their family and friends.
Check out their wedding video http://vimeo.com/69733838 Mom, take note, I want these people for my wedding!
